Taking off again on my current "to do" design tasks, I am sharing with you my top five vanity picks for a powder bath I am designing for a young couple building their first home. A nice home, mind you, but with a tight budget. I am visualizing the flooring as a light-hued, rectified tile in a larger format. My plan is to hone in on the furniture style of the vanity selection before I begin making the rest of the decisions on treatments for walls and fixtures. Poor lighting choices can kill an otherwise awesome design. At best, the wrong selection can bore you to tears and resemble a DIY trip to a big box retailer. All too often, the final decisions get pushed to the end of a project and are not properly integrated with the design aesthetic as a complete picture.
